Meet The Team

John has decades of experience in the waterproofing, tanking and the hazardous ground gas industries, with a special focus on the insistence & execution of the correct on-site quality assurance programs.

Working on very large-scale projects all around the World Johns understanding of the value of integrity testing and verification is second to none.

At home, John’s educational lectures are regularly performed for key Engineering Organizations and globally, Government Engineering Departments in Ireland, Finland, Romania, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Spain, Belarus, Croatia, Serbia, The UAE, Israel, Brazil and The Philippines have all benefitted from John’s advice.

John is a Director at the Radon Council and was an integral member in organizing the 2023 update of the Building Research Establishment document BR211 RADON: Guidance on protective measures for new buildings, which is referenced in both the Building Regulations in England & Wales, Document C and the Scottish Building Standards.

Paul holds a Civil Engineering degree and has recently become Chartered. Paul has decades of experience in the waterproofing and ground gas sectors. He was instrumental in setting up the British Verification Council and served as Chairman for several years. Paul has also contributed to many industry guidance documents such as CIRIA C795 and C801.

Paul is an assessor for the NVQ 2 Ground Gas Installation, NVQ 3 Ground Gas Verification and CL:AIRE TGPV and SGPV qualifications.

Mathew has over a decade’s experience in the ground gas sector, primarily in the manufacture and supply of gas membranes. Mathew served two years as the Chairman of the British Geomembrane Association and is a committee member with the British Standards Institute. Mathew has contributed to several industry guidance documents including CIRIA C795, C801 and the Modular Building Ground Gas Guidance by the Offsite Alliance.

Donna has a wealth of knowledge and experience in finance, construction and business management. Donna has worked with GeoShield since 2017 and has gained valuable knowledge of the industry.

Jack holds a NVQ level 2 in Ground Gas Installation and the CL:AIRE TGPV for Verification. He has over ten years’ experience in the ground gas sector as a project and operations manager. Well respected in the industry, Jack is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to on-site installation and verification activities.

Val has been at the sharp end of Estimating in the ground gas sector for many years. Handling all incoming enquiries from small extensions to hugely complex tenders, Val’s knowledge and understanding of the sector is incredibly valuable. The data analysis that Val undertakes is instrumental in keeping Geoshield heading in the right direction.

John’s understanding of verification and integrity testing methods and on-site buildability is invaluable. John provides training and support to the verification officers alongside providing support to the Project and Operations Manager. John holds the CL:AIRE TGPV in ground gas verification.

Abbie holds a degree in Photography and a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing. Looking after all things marketing keeps Abbie busy, from the website and social media posts to exhibitions and events, to company brochures and literature, nothing marketing happens at GeoShield without Abbie’s input.
