As members of ERA (European Radon Association), GeoShields Paul Colbeck has been invited to speak at the ERA Radon Week in Lugano Switzerland on the 24th – 28th September 2018. He will be presenting the UK perspective towards verification on Radon protection in new build construction.

The week will see National and international members of the scientific community, radon testers, professionals of the built environment, educators, public stakeholders and business people attending the various seminars and workshops to learn and discuss the latest developments in Radon testing and mitigation as well as Government legislation throughout Europe.

In addition to the Radon Mitigation course which is being taught by experts of the AARST (The American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists), ERA and SUPSI (University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Italian Switzerland), where attendees will be issued with a certificate of participation in the course, there will be other workshops covering Radon key issues such as:

• Radon in national building codes – This workshop will be looking at to what level Radon mitigation and prevention is included in the various national building codes throughout Europe.
• ERA General Assembly – This is a free admission forum which will focus on open discussions on Radon mitigation, prevention and inspection.
• Radon Outcomes on Mitigation Solutions (ROOMS) – A workshop looking at various Radon mitigation and prevention issues throughout Europe. The main focus of this workshop will be on ERA members case studies, looking at successful case studies as well as some of the problems and the failures that occurred.

The event will be held at the SUPSI Department for Environment Constructions and Design Radon Competence Center in Lugano Switzerland
