"As a project manager for Heyrod construction, we were tasked to install a gas membrane under a 20 story structure Heyrod were building at Media City in Salford. One of the requirements for this part of our package was to obtain an independent 3rd party accreditation of the installation.
Initial contact with GeoShield was made early July. Meetings were set to discuss particulars. These early site meetings were attended promptly, and details of their services were clearly explained. Not long after the initial site meetings had taken place a contract was set and an initial training session was made on 21st July 2017.
The GeoShield representative who was training gave clear and practical guidance to the operatives and site foreman. Booking of inspections were made by simple phone calls to GeoShield. Although every effort was made by Heyrod to give sufficient notice, uncontrollable factors such as weather meant 24 hour notice to book or rearrange inspections was regularly given. Fortunately, GeoShield were more than capable of meeting our demands and without hesitation carried out on-site inspection as required.
The GeoShield inspectors were on site for 2-3 hours, carrying out a brief inspection with myself or the site foreman, but then carried out, in close consultation with our installers, the necessary testing. Problems with the installation discovered by the inspector were highlighted, and assistance from GeoShield was given in rectifying these problems. Throughout the inspection process, practical advice was given on how to install some of the more complex areas of membrane. Detailed reports of inspections were Emailed later. In summary, GeoShield were prompt with guidance and visits to the site, offered practical advice on how to install, were flexible on carrying out inspections and carried out extensive testing of our completed membranes when onsite."
