Are you involved in construction but feel that your prospects are limited, then becoming a GeoShieldVerification Officer may be the career move for you?

GeoShield Ground Gas Protection Application Verification Services require a surveyor/engineer/technician who will eventually be qualified as a GeoShield Verification Officer. The surveying requirements are to primarily monitor the installation of Ground Gas Protection Membranes to ensure they follow the new regulations set down in BS 8485:2015 and CIRIA 735. Full training will be given to ensure the competency of the successful candidate as they will be part of each individual projects Pre-Con site management team.

It is essential a prior knowledge of the construction industry is shown, from management infrastructure to mainly foundation and basement construction methods.

After training the successful candidate will possess the ability to converse with all levels of construction site staff including management, with clear vocabulary and smart appearance, they will implement training schemes, introduce quality assurance procedures, perform independent third party inspections and be able to show an understanding at a technical level of all the different installation methods and how the options for gas membranes and gas venting systems differ across the UK construction market place.

Ideally based along the M1 / M25 the candidate would have an understanding of the construction industry (CSCS card holder) and its matrix from labourer to client. A basic knowledge of the technical build-up of construction, concrete placement, brickwork application and construction schedules would be advantageous as would knowledge of on-site Quality Assurance procedures.

Though officially based at the GeoShield HQ in Thorpe Park Leeds most day to day operations will stem from working from your home office. Eventually the successful candidate will operate throughout the UK, therefore, must be self-motivated, understand the need for correct time management and be able to stay away from base when requested (possibly several days per week). The candidate must hold a full UK driving license as a vehicle will be provided immediately on employment.

The opportunity for the candidate offers a unique route into the industry where the market place is only just opening. It allows for scope to expand the strategy to show their skill sets.

Training would be in-house and with recognised industry courses from accredited authorities (PCA, BGA, CPD, Radon Council) to create a singular proven professional route within the industry.
